Pure Genius…

There are a lot of webcomics out there. What do you think? Should Bob publish a few of his webcomics? Which webcomics are your favorites?

  1. LOL :D This made me smile so hard. Loving all these with Bob and his webcomic, I hope you’ll let him make some strips.

  2. somebody smack that guy on the back of the head!LOL
    10+++

  3. A cintiq will fix it m’kay? Hope my boss falls for that!

  4. The artwork and geekiness of his strip is pretty reminiscent of xkcd. Perhaps he could try something along those lines.

  5. I read you, XKCD, Questionable Content, User Friendly, Penny Arcade and GU Comics.

  6. Hoooboy. Bob obviously hasn’t looked at the market.

Most webcomics are pure crap. Few of the people who do them for a living actually make a living on it (Phil and Kaja Foglio come to mind, but their real income comes from marketing book versions, novelties, and conventions).

Some have great art. Others have great stories. Some have both.

My favorites are: Girl Genius, Brathalla, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, The Phoenix Requiem (and its predecessor Inverloch), The Noob, and of course PCW and Uncubed :)

There are other good ones out there, though not all have kept my interest. Gone with the Blastwave was good, but the creator posts a new page about once every six months and openly says he has little interest in his own work (which makes me wonder why he bothers).

But Bob should definitely publish a few of his webcomics. I see great opportunity for comedy there.

  7. I like PVP, Uncubed, PC Weenies, and Starslip (when I can rememebr to check on it). Krishna, maybe you could give Bob a break and let him do a guest strip for you once he gets a few comics published. :) Maybe something along the lines when “the kids” would do the strip in Family Circus.

  8. I have always been a fan of Bauhaus. My wife and I planned our entire wedding around making it “simple, elegant”.

In 1995, I visited Portugal and bought an AIDS benefit poster. The subject matter is adult, but it’s art, not porn. Why? It’s really just a bunch of black charcoal lines on white… but unlike Bob’s “art”… it captures an entire moment between two people. I have been fascinated by that simplicity since I first saw it. It cost me more to ship the poster to the US, and even more than that to have it framed, but it hangs now in my house.

  9. I like PCWeenies obviously, Uncubed as well, plus I always check out AppleGeeks, XKCD, and Diesel Sweeties. I’d totally love to see some more of Bob’s webcomics!

  10. I’m currently reading (x, why), explosm.net, Ctrl+Alt+Del, Darths & Droids, Fox Tails, Irregular Webcomic!, Penny Arcade!, The PC Weenies (of course :) ), the UNSPEAKABLE VAULT (Of Doom), xkcd, chopping block and a few non-english comics.
At the moment I’m reading through the archives of MegaTokyo.
And I’m planning to start Legostar Galactica, and some others soon.
