Webcomics Weekend ramblings and photos

Wow. What an incredible day.

I wish I had taken more photos of the event, but I spent most of my time networking and talking with other cartoonists, readers and attendees.

My day started at 2AM – my excitement overwhelmed any sense of rest. I did some last minute packing and left home at 3:30 in the morning. The lines at the airport were long, but I wended my way through the snake-like security lines to make it to the departure gate.

My flight was at 5:30AM – and I arrived at Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut at 9:30AM. The cold weather hit me like a ton of bricks – I had forgotten what cold New England weather was like.

Readers Kaiki and Sam picked me up at the airport. I’d never met either of them before today, but they were both really cool and we chatted up about what took place on Friday evening (the Pub Crawl).

We arrived at the Eastworks building 45 minutes after leaving the airport. First impressions of the building – it’s old, it’s got character, and it’s huge.

Kaiki dropped me off – I walked in and met Scott Kurtz and Paul Southworth, who were both eating breakfast. I was pretty nervous meeting them – but there was nothing to worry about, they were both very cool and friendly. The day was about to begin…

More to come – probably in a podcast as it’s too much to type here. :)
