How Fast is Your Network Connection?

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

These were my results, via DSLreports, using the Flash 8 plugin-based speed test.

Speakeasy also has their own speed test you can use to test the speed of your connection. Run the tests against servers in Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta and other cities to get an overall average of your upload and download speeds.

Rebootus Maximus: NOW Bigger and Better!

new_cover

Things have been quiet news-wise on the blog. Usually when that happens, it means I’ve been really, really busy. Anyway, I’m up for some air now and I wanted to share what I’ve been working on.

As you know I’m in the process of making a book. Last week I received a proof copy. The proof copy is the prototype, where changes can be made as needed before making the final copies.

I went back and made some significant changes to the book, all for the better – and all for the same low price. The book is now 9″ wide by 8.5″ tall, includes even more strips, even more original art and even more commentary and extras. The page count is still the same – a whopping 120 pages – but with the added dimensions I was able to squeeze in a lot more stuff. Translation: bigger book and even MORE cool content!

The second proof is slated to arrive next week. If you haven’t had a chance to order your copy yet, you still have time!

Copies are expected to arrive at my place in late August. I’m shipping the books out to readers in early September. As always, thank you for your continued support!

NAPNAM PC Weenies spotlight!

NAPNAM, a popular site run by Patrick Andriessen, chose The PC Weenies as their #1 tech webcomic pick, among a host of other cool techie comics. How cool is that? Now, if only I could translate what the rest of the article says. :)
